      @keyofG A few disabled people might be seeking MAID in Canada, but over 60% have cancer and most are over age 85. https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/publications/health-system-services/annual-report-medical-assistance-dying-2024.html#a3.1

        @keyofG IMO "people are resorting to MAID because of desperate poverty" isn't an argument to ban MAID, it's an argument to alleviate poverty.

            @keyofG Yes. Just clarifying that this concern is about Track 2 MAID, not TRACK 1 in Canada. The point the HRC makes is that people with disabilities aren’t supported well enough, that’s why some turn to MAID. It’s horrifying and sad that those supports aren’t in place.
