I was drafting a post last night about how the Supreme Court's dismantling of the Voting Rights Act was the beginning of another phase with what the GOP did to Memphis as an example, and today I find that they just did the same thing in my state.

This tells me 2 things:
1) as pissed off as I am that they just nullified the special election, if voting didn't matter, they wouldn't need to rig it
2) voting is not *enough*, we need sustained direct action, starting from the community level. -

In 2025 the GOP targeted Black economic power by dismantling what feeble DEIA protections existed, triggering mass layoffs and the purge of government services, putting over 600,000 of the 92% of Black women who voted against this into unemployment.
This year they're targeting Black legislative power by dismantling what feeble Voting Rights Act protections existed.
As ever, anti-Blackness is at the heart of their efforts and is their basis for harming EVERYONE.
