It is the polar opposite of a trend I despise in NYC productions in which everything has to be as stylized and dynamic and multimedia as possible. There are just four chairs on stage, no costume changes, only one scene with minimal props and character interaction. Most of the play is seated monologues with a spotlight on the speaker and sometimes a lowlight on the person they are talking about. You can really get into the text.
