Lagarde (ECB): Urgent to strengthen the Euro area and its economy.

ECB/Sight – “The European Central Bank has maintained the deposit rate at 2%, the main refinancing operations rate at 2.15% and the marginal lending rate at 2.40%. The war in the Middle East has made prospects significantly more uncertain, generating upward risks for inflation and downward risks for economic growth. The conflict will have a significant impact on short-term inflation through energy price increases. The medium-term implications will depend on the intensity and duration of the war as well as how energy prices will affect consumer prices and the economy,” said ECB President Lagarde.
