AGI - WhatsApp introduce gli account gestiti da un genitore, una nuova modalità pensata per consentire a genitori e tutori di accompagnare i preadolescenti nelle prime esperienze sulla piattaforma con impostazioni più restrittive e controlli dedicati.
La novità, annunciata dall'azienda, è rivolta ai minori di 13 anni e punta a limitare l'utilizzo del servizio alla messaggistica e alle chiamate.
Restrizioni con i nuovi account
Secondo WhatsApp, i nuovi account nascono in risposta alle richieste di molti genitori, interessati a far usare l'app ai figli più piccoli in un ambiente più controllato e con maggiori garanzie. Gli account dovranno essere creati e gestiti attivamente da un genitore o da un tutore e resteranno collegati al loro profilo WhatsApp. Tra le principali caratteristiche, la possibilità per i ragazzi di usare esclusivamente chat e chiamate, mentre ai genitori sarà affidata la gestione dei contatti che possono comunicare con i figli, dei gruppi ai quali potranno accedere e delle impostazioni relative alla privacy.

Restrictions with new accounts

According to WhatsApp, the new accounts are born in response to the requests of many parents, interested in letting their younger children use the app in a more controlled environment with greater guarantees. The accounts must be created and actively managed by a parent or guardian and will remain linked to their WhatsApp profile. Among the main features, the ability for boys to exclusively use chats and calls, while parents will be responsible for managing the contacts who can communicate with their children, the groups they can access, and the privacy settings.

The goal, according to the company, is to offer a more protected experience for those under 13, introducing more strict default settings and new parental supervision tools.
