Città del Vaticano, 1 mar. (askanews) - "Seguo con profonda preoccupazione quanto sta accadendo in Medio Oriente e in Iran in queste ore drammatiche. La stabilità e la pace non si costruiscono con minacce reciproche né con le armi che seminano distruzione, dolore e morte, ma solo attraverso un dialogo ragionevole, autentico e responsabile". Lo ha detto Papa Leone XIV al termine dell'Angelus domenicale in piazza San Pietro.
"Dinanzi alla possibilità di una tragedia di proporzioni enormi - ha quindi aggiunto - rivolgo alle parti coinvolte, l'accorato appello ad assumere la responsabilità morale di fermare la spirale della violenza prima che diventi una voragine irreparabile".

Stability and peace are not built with mutual threats or with weapons that sow destruction, pain, and death, but only through reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue.” This was said by Pope Leo XIV at the end of the Sunday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.

“Before the possibility of a tragedy of enormous proportions – he then added – I address the parties involved, the heartfelt plea to assume the moral responsibility to stop the spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss.”
