    Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.

    While browsing the Fediverse today it appears most people here have never tried to pick up a duck or swan. Like, not even once during their childhood.

    Some people say they've not even touched a living chicken!

    My hypothesis is that people here get upset about whatever hypothesis I present so I'll shutup on this.

    🦆 🦢

    Have you try pick up a duck or swan?

    Please boost for scientific accuracy (or don't, it's your choice, that #science for you!)

      Instructions for duck. For swans step two should be adapted.

        @Pepijn do ducklings count?

        I think I've picked up gull chicks and tern chicks before, but not ducklings or swan chicks.

          For scientific reasons, now, urgently, I'm in need of a video on how to pick up the swan, or, in the absence of a swan, a goose.

                  @Pepijn
                  To be precise, a baby duckling. Strange story. We were five minutes from home. A car was stationary right in the middle of the road in front of us. The driver and passenger swapped places and the car sped off. Us: WTF!?! It turned out a duckling had got under the car and had been smashed against the tarmac by the ridiculous speed. We caught the duckling and took it to the animal shelter. Back home an hour later...

                            @Pepijn @doktorzjivago Yes, but ducks are more domesticated? Hence the degree of crazy lady is a tad higher, but not really at swan lady level.

                                    @Pepijn Successfully lifted ducks and geese (well, ducklings and goslings.) No swans or cygnets though.

                                      I have picked up pet birds (tiny to large). No chickens or ducks.

                                        For scientific reasons, now, urgently, I'm in need of a video on how to pick up the swan, or, in the absence of a swan, a goose.

                                          @Pepijn I have picked up a barred owl and a red-tailed hawk (not at the same time). However, I have never been in a situation where either I or a swan/duck/goose would benefit from me putting hands on it, so I've kept them to myself.
