Parks on the Air is more like Pokémon. By activating a park, you get "hunted" by other amateur operators who want to get that park in their logs. Or, perhaps, they want that state, or county. The same is true for State QSO Parties.
I strive to make sure all those details in my logs are correct, so when I upload them the hunters get proper credit for having contacted that park/state/county/etc.

@praxiscode Ah, so the hunters don't necessarily need to get close?
Only contact I ever had with radios were handheld, those capped out at a couple km.
Seems like a fine, nerdy way to get out into nature for the activators.
