    This should be one of those whimsical Fedi fascinations: #FireHydrants

    This one is in Grant City in NW Missouri. I’d guess the hydrant is at least 80 years old.

        More #abandoned

        In contrast to the previous house, the yard surrounding this one has also been abandoned to the will of trees and brush. A small redbud tree is making use of the opportunity. (In the same small, impoverished, depopulated, deteriorating town.)

          @donray abandoned houses and barns always seem more fascinating than regular ones.

            @donray Very striking photos, but what a sad state of the town.

              @kateiacy

              Grant City is the county seat of Worth County, Missouri, which voted 81.8% for tRump.

              There is definitely a connection between having a failed social, economic structure and support for a hateful leader who blames problems on minorities and immigrants. Add evangelical Protestantism to the mix and you’ve got tRump’s base. Lots of large tRump banners on houses in this town.

                  My first thought is, how long it would take to remove a rusted and painted plug and attach a hose. 🫤

                    Exactly. Fortunately, the house is already a total loss 🙂

                      As a renovator/restorer for many years I find that quite sad.
