While Pakistan, through its UN mission, continues to promote the narrative that Afghanistan serves as a safe haven for international militant groups, pro-Taliban media have released details about two alleged ISKP members reportedly killed in a recent raid against an Islamic State group's hideout in Khyber district. The outlet also claimed that, among the 11 individuals killed, several were Turkish nationals.
1. Hamza Bajauri was identified as a 32-year-old resident of Bajaur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who allegedly joined ISKP in Peshawar four years ago and had recently developed close ties with Hafiz Zubair Muahid, described as the head of ISKPโs Bara cell.
2. Ghufran Khorasani, reportedly from Chakri in Punjab, was said to have joined ISKP in 2014 and to have previously fought in support of the group in Afghanistan.
