According to the Financial Times, France and Italy are engaging in talks with Iran to establish negotiation channels aimed at ensuring the safety of commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The goal is to prevent European commercial ships passing through the Gulf from being targeted, amid rising security risks in one of the world's most vital maritime passages.
The report was quickly denied by the Italian Foreign Ministry, which stated it was not involved in any such mediation.
