The European Union approved the acquisition of the Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz by the American company Google in a deal valued at approximately 32 billion dollars, making it the largest in Google's history.

The deal came after a review by the European Commission for Competition, which concluded that it would not harm competition in the European market in the areas of cloud computing and cybersecurity, and it was approved without any regulatory conditions.

Wiz was founded in 2020 and focuses on providing protection solutions for digital and cloud infrastructures. The company’s team will continue within the division after the merger.

The deal has sparked criticism due to the company’s involvement in mass surveillance projects targeting Palestinians and its testing in connection with Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
