@neil Genuine question: What's your approach to "handling" the (in)frequent posts from 600+ accounts that you follow?
I recall that you mute keywords generously. What other tools from the Mastodon toolset do you apply?
Yes, I filter a lot of sports and party politics related terms, annoying hashtags and so on.
But my main approach is following people reasonably liberally, seeing how I get on with what they post, and unfollowing if needed. So I end up with a feed of stuff which I am choosing to see, on the whole.
Occasionally I mute accounts, but this is pretty rare.

@neil and all of that in one single timeline, no lists of any sort?

@jochie No, I've not really got into using lists.

People posting their creations, and others saying how cool they are.
Artists showing their art, and people loving it. Buying it if they can.
People posting silly jokes, poems, photos, whatever.
People chatting together pleasantly.
I see very little negativity or bitchiness.
(It may be there; I am commenting only on what I, personally, see, which is inevitably limited).
@neil I totally agree. I post my musical creation often and gert some lovely feedbackc.

That's exactly what I see here, too, and I love it the same as you do. -

@neil ha I read this just after posting a moan, but I do try to balance it out and post positivity too!

@tamsin Hmm... I was thinking more about positivity in terms of engagement with other people's toots, rather than everyone just posting happy clappy stuff especially in the face of adversity
Your toot was a justifiable moan! -
