I'm going through #fosdem 2026 videos and I need to point out the good work with the files themselves.

I'm going through #fosdem 2026 videos and I need to point out the good work with the files themselves. We have the option of downloading .mp4 videos with older coded for old devices, but we have everything also encoded in modern av1 (using webm as container) which makes for very small files with good quality. I'm saving them directly to my jellyfin instance and watching one by one at my tv, popcorn in hand. Good job fosdem people!

@crodges and what I particularly appreciate are subtitle files which I can load and use in VLC.
(Hard of hearing and reading along can occasionally help to discern particular words, even if the recording got the spelling wrong.)

@nathanael I was lost at first regarding this. The easiest way I found out to explore was to go to the schedule https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/ , them to developer rooms list. Once there, I click to any subject that interests me and all of the relevant talks will be there.

@crodges OK, I'm doing exactly the same thing, even using Jellyfin. Great minds, or something?
