I hope more authors will lean into making recommendations of other authors books — art is subjective, so you never know if someone will like the book you loved, but at least they'll know *actual humans* wrote it, read it, loved it.

That helps readers navigate the sea of AI slop and we all win with that.

In the spirit of recommending human-made books, I just finished reading The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst and *adored* it — it's cottagecore romantasy and just absolutely delightful. I didn't even know this subgenre existed (and I think it's pretty new) but I will definitely be seeking out more.

@ruben oh, Silver in the Wood looks delightful! I'm very into nature writing these days (reading it and writing it), so I'll be checking this out!

I will say that I love anything by AJ Sherwood and Jocelyn Drake (MM romance, romantasy). Both also have their own shops where you can buy direct.
Most recent is Regressor King by AJ, a chonker and rather feel-good with a few dark moments and flashbacks.
I do my best to review books I read on Bookwyrm (which is like Goodreads but better and not an arm of Amazon).

@susankayequinn oh, I loved that too! Found it perusing shelves at local bookstore, too a chance, enjoyed the heck out of it.

@susankayequinn seconding Silver in the Wood, it was very good (and I liked the followup a lot, too)
