        @itsfoss
        The second person is correct and linux being small on desktops is because it is not mass manipulation compatible.

        Windows and MacOS are dumbing people down, making them use high tech that costs millions to make (the machines building computer parts are prohibitively expensive) without being aware of the labor that went into them.

        Normalizing monopolists like microsoft or apple is just another way of making excuses for mass exploitation.

        Microsoft and Apple need to be taken down.

          @haui @itsfoss Most people aren't consciously aware of the labor that went into making their morning coffee, let alone the eye-wateringly expensive and complicated process of microchip lithography at the nanometer scale.

            This is called white privilege and the fediverse has an awful lot of it. But the world as a whole is slowly getting there as western countries are again starting to brutally oppress their citizens. Give it time.

            In the meantime, we educate people towards more solidarity and mindfulness towards others. they will need it in the years to come when they clear the debris of their societies.

              @haui @itsfoss Do you genuinely believe the there is a correlation between race and how informed you are about the supply chain?

              I've met a lot of people from many races and nationalities here in America and most are equally uninformed in my experience.

                There obviously will be differences in social circles being more or less privileged. Yes, privilege makes ignorant. That is a fact.

                How does homelessness feel? Being harassed for sex? Being called slurs for your skincolor?

                The more you understand of oppression the more you understand of exploitation at home and abroad.

                On average, white people are vastly more privileged, so are men. That doesnt mean there will be no outliers. They are needed to galvanise the system.

                  @haui @itsfoss Next time I'm down on the southside of town I'll be sure to ask the homeless dudes about the socio-political issues surrounding Taiwan and computer chip lithography, or about the exploitation of miners in La Rinconada Peru.

                  I'm sure they'll be able to teach me a lot.

                    Very funny. I hope you feel very intelligent while being chauvinistic towards others. People who are homeless or otherwise beaten down by the system generally have a lot to teach. For people who actually listen that is.
