specifically it's Bryonia alba; same as Zaunrübe, aka Scheißwurz . probably because it's very toxic. here it is with the name in glorious blackletter (aus « Die Giftgewächse der österreichischen Alpenländer», 1871):

and yes I know daikon is a radish and not a turnip, but the thing with absurd insults is they have to sound like insults, daikon is a lot more fun to say than kabu (aka-kabu from SaGa Frontier notwithstanding). besides all the brassicae are the same plant anyway (https://xkcd.com/2827/ )
