      @stefano while I do understand the rationale behind it, I really, really hate to be forced to allow a random web page to run programs inside of my browser.

      In four of ten cases I just... leave.

      (( General remark, not explicitly pointing at you! ))

        @resmo @stefano here is the Anubis lighting talk from BSDCan 2025:
        https://youtu.be/H5zsHq76jgY?si=IKuv1kGSBjqwOcyq
        I am sure the features have grown since then.

          @udob I know. It’s the exact reason why I avoided it until today. But those bots were loading the server and Brew was suffering. I’ll remove it when possible.

            @udob @stefano I fully aggree...
            On the other hand, sometimes the alternative would be to just fully block (unauthenticated) access either completly or for large parts of the internet with current crawler activities (there are some operations crawlers like that are quite expensive on large git repos...)...
            Personally i prefer anubis (and similar) local solutions instead of just putting it behind cloudflare (which is the popular workaround)

              @stefano @udob good job and good luck, thanks for being there with a nice offer when people are trying to leave github. I set up donation on liberapay before i forget.

                  @albert @udob Exactly. I'm not a fan of "PoW" or other blocking solutions, but I prefer an open source, self hosted local one than going through Cloudflare.
                  Sometimes, it's just choosing your poison...
