Maybe I've already posted it, but this was my desktop in early 2000.

@stefano this is so cool! I see the USR modem on the right, so I wonder what's the blue thingie on top of the scanner (?), is that another modem? Maybe a DSL one?
-
@stefano Good ol'ubiquitous Zip drive!
-
@stefano And a first thing I noticed is a huge speaker.

@stefano that keyboard's so white it is bothering me... no coffee stains, snack smudges... how did you even live back then??

@qwertz that’s the reason why it was always open

@stefano Not one, but two optical drives. Let me guess, the burner is CD only and the other drive can read DVDs but can't burn?
Why the extra little driver on top of the speaker? Was it modded to have, like a super tweeter for reaching 40KHz frequencies or something?

@miodvallat @stefano Until it gets the ominous "click of death"
(I had 2 iomega zip drives)

@nazokiyoubinbou one was a burner (slow in both reading and burning), the other one a faster, more compatible CD reader. No DVDs, yet.
The little driver was a weird experiment: I connected a sub woofer and that twitter to my amp, Different impedance, it was a mess. But it sounded surprisingly good
