    I have a physical #freebsd server that I use to host my email. Today I felt a little homepage, so I configured a jail on it to serve up some static homepages.

        @macer oh 100 percent. But at least let’s encrypt has made them free and they don’t throw browser warnings!

            @gumnos @waffles Pete and I both already do that! (Well, I don't run fingerd(8), but /etc/motd on the household server does advise users to run `pinky -l root` for full-length service advisories)

              (I wrote the server myself because I didn’t like the inetd version that shipped with Debian)

                    @waffles @gnomon

                    I need to resurrect my patch-set for OpenBSD's fingerd(8) that only provides info for accounts with a .plan or .project file (and thus intentionally opting into fingerability, rather than enumerating users who might not want to be enumerable)

                      @waffles i'm actually a little surprised it has lasted this long. i guess if they wind up not supporting LE then everybody will move to different browsers. can't really do that in the US (or even EU even though there are laws for it) on iphones though.
