    @Mage_of_Chaos hi there, comments like this one are actually the exact problem i’m talking about. what exactly makes you think that screaming at a random stranger (with whom you have never previously interacted) makes you morally superior to anyone? you’re actually just being kind of a huge jerk.

    ps: i’m autistic

          @jepyang p.s. I am a peer. They are totally a dick, you didn't mention that incident as the scenerio, & you seemed to be attacking people with autism so I made an observation about your vague description of the conflict.

          I didn't make a problematic comment & will not apologise for my response because the vague statement you made absolutely did NOT entail that you were experiencing unprovoked shouting from a stranger.
          You only said being autistic doesn't garuntee superiority in political views.

          @Mage_of_Chaos not sure how you missed this, but *you* are the stranger who did the unprovoked yelling. you. there’s no third-party incident being referred to. just you.

          you *egregiously* misinterpreted a post of mine, and instead of just moving on, or perhaps checking on your (very poor) assumptions, you jumped directly to screaming hurtful things at me.

          i am *not* your peer.

          making this explicit: leave me alone, this interaction is unwelcome and beyond repair at this point.

            @jepyang it feels a lot like the pop-christian idea that salvation (morality) is a matter of the right beliefs, and your actual deeds have no effect or value

                @jepyang i can kind of see how people arrive at this framework, it’s so easy to see how so many people seem to lack any kind of actual moral compass when it comes to how they actually act, and completely contradict the things they say they believe as soon as it suits them, and go “those damn neurotypicals with their lack of justice sensitivity”, but i’ve also seen lots of people embody the other extreme in a bad way and be super dogmatic and unable to even consider that they might be wrong about some things, or that different people might have different perspectives. And while those behaviors do tend to correlate with neurotypicals for the first one and autistic people for the second one, i think those don’t 100% align and there’s often other factors, such as people’s upbringing and environment.

                  @jepyang yeah it is a morally neutral thing, in and of itself. there are, like... ways that people relate to their neurology that may be good, but there are ways that are bad, too.

                  we've long noticed a kind of undercurrent of what we can only call autism-supremacy rhetoric, which doesn't really get much traction at all in queer circles, but we can see how it could, so we think it needs to be actively opposed.

                  @ireneista @jepyang

                  Some trans people think they're morally superior too. "When I use LLMs I do so ethically", that kind of thing.

                          @jepyang It also makes neurotypical morally wrong, either implicitly or explictly. Which is bad to begin with and worse when people equate not having autism with being neurotypical.
