    @hpod16 @EUCommission Nice work.
    I'm sure this has been already treated elsewhere but a reminder of the different EU bodies (EC, Council, …), their members, their functions, the way each acts could be a good subject.

    @Caprarius
    That’s a good idea! Just a back to basics - how does the EU work?
    Lord knows we all need it, even I get things wrong still, and I’ve been in Brussels for 10 years

      I think uploading 5 videos at the same time is a bad strategy. 🤔

        Exciting announcement!

        We created a new YouTube channel, and I'm one of the hosts!
        We decided to make a series out of responding to comments on the @EUCommission social media accounts.

        It would really help me out if you hit that like button and leave a comment about what subject we should do next (if commenting on YT is your jam, that is.)

        you can watch it here:

          @hpod16 I'm not really the target audience, but well done.

          If I may nitpick: I'm not sure it's wise to refer to Article 7 as a “last resort”. It might be possible for a member state to effectively kick itself out of the EU, by violating the treaty in such an unacceptable way that the other members unanimously agree that it is no longer in the EU. Article 60 of the Vienna Convention (https://legal.un.org/ilc/texts/instruments/english/conventions/1_1_1969.pdf) would probably be the legal basis for such a decision.

            @hpod16 @EUCommission I think the requirement that it should be in the actual continent is arbitrary and unnecessary, and already stretched by allowing applications from Turkey and Georgia. Technically, Armenia shouldn't be able to apply, nor Greenland but that is ludicrous. In other "european" endeavours we already allow for participation by non European countries. Why not in this one? I'd LOVE to see Canada and Australia join.

                @rozeboosje Because we're not a mini UN, nor a theme park with trade agreements? We're a common culture bound by a shared legal framework. It seems staggeringly arrogant to me to assume resource-rich countries on other continents would even WANT to be under the jurisdiction of the CJUE. Also: are we TOO functional right now? Are our institutions working SO well that we need to add lawmakers from 10 timezones away with 0 interest in Europe to our legislative process? #CanadaJar

                      @Veza85UE @hpod16 IF they show interest, why not? If they don't, grand. We can have, and are making great progress toward having, good trade agreements with such countries and I would be more than happy to also see freedom of movement between us and them.

                          @rozeboosje Because they're not European.

                          Freedom of Movement is one of the 4 freedoms under our 🇪🇺 Treaties. It's not free. There are tradeoffs. You're supposed to pool sovereignty to participate in the Single Market, it's overseen by 🇪🇺 Courts under 🇪🇺 law. Btw, Canada has 0 business being in the SM since Manitoba and Québec trade less freely with each other than Sweden and Bulgaria do inside the SM.

                          Why would any EUropean want to dilute the EU, plus extra vetoes in the 2 Councils?

                            @Veza85UE @hpod16 If that's all true, Canada would not qualify and in that case the point is moot. The point I'm making is obviously contingent on a close alignment between the EU and Canada or Australia. Until that is achieved, if it's even something those countries were aiming for, it is of course a non runner. All I am saying is that merely not being on the continent of Europe should not be an obstacle. Other obstacles, of course, remain.

                              @rozeboosje The point is moot because Canada is not a European country and our Treaties and our Union are supposed to *mean* something to us. Again, we're not the UN, nor the OSCE and we can have wonderful trade relationships with allies in other organisations that are not the EU.

                              Because we're NOT giving veto power over our eurolives to Saskatchewan.

                              Canada simps can spend time and resources on getting the 10 EU statelets that haven't ratified CETA yet to do it.

                                  @hpod16 I’m in competition law (I often work with your colleagues of DG Comp) so I’d love to see a related topic ^^
                                  Competition policy and articles 101 and 102 are vital to provide an entrepreneur economy useful to consumers and businesses, instead of a rent economy, it’s redistributive and innovative.

                                  A recent case, new and catchy, is ‘Food delivery services’, regarding labor markets. Two merging companies had concluded no-poach agreements, forbidding to hire each-others employees in Europe (mainly Germany, Spain and Portugal as I remember). The Commission sanctioned it, favoring mobility and wage raises… A good case to illustrate the competition policy on, I think…

                                    @Peperlito if we cover competition law… I’m gonna need a lot of help from the colleagues in DG Comp. But it is a very interesting subject!

                                          @rozeboosje The point is moot because Canada is not a European country and our Treaties and our Union are supposed to *mean* something to us. Again, we're not the UN, nor the OSCE and we can have wonderful trade relationships with allies in other organisations that are not the EU.

                                          Because we're NOT giving veto power over our eurolives to Saskatchewan.

                                          Canada simps can spend time and resources on getting the 10 EU statelets that haven't ratified CETA yet to do it.

                                          We’ve got some bets going in the team about how many views we’ll have by Monday so I’m trying to push the vids a little more 🤣
