I have a #meshcore question about my Heltec v3 and I wonder if anyone on here has any insights.

If I leave it plugged into a power source so it doesn't run out of battery, but I disconnect my phone bluetooth from it, at some point, hours later, it becomes unresponsive. I can't wake it up by pressing the PRG button, and I can't connect to it by bluetooth.

The only thing I can do is press the RST button, which resets it. That's ok, but then all the messages it received while I was disconnected are lost.

Anyone out there know what's going on and if there's a solution?

@MLE_online Haven’t had this problem. But can you tell me what kind of power source? A powerbank or an outlet? I heard that there can be a problem with powerbanks that do not support trickle charging.

@HowardGees It looks like it's one behind the latest. I guess I can upgrade and see if that fixes anything

@MLE_online Sometimes these symptoms are due to a filesystem corruption (something that’s been plaguing Meshtastic and MeshCore since the beginning). Basically it eventually hits a bad part of the filesystem and locks up.

Back up your node, and do a full erase, upgrade your firmware, and restore the backup.

After this you may need to re-add to your Bluetooth by forgetting the device and pairing again.
