#Defense “Secretary” Pete #Hegseth [tan-in-a-can #WarCriminal] argued Thursday that the #Trump admin can continue the #IranWar despite a #VietnamWar era #law that REQUIRES #Congress’ approval after 60 days of fighting, in an apparent attempt to stave off the rapidly approaching deadline.

His comments came in a hearing before the #Senate #ArmedServices Cmte where Hegseth…[falsely claimed]…that an ongoing #ceasefire between Washington & Tehran “pauses” the countdown.

The #Trump admin NEVER asked #Congress to authorize the #IranWar before launching joint strikes with #Israel on Feb 28. Friday marks the 60-day deadline, after which the #WarPowers Act REQUIRES approval from lawmakers for hostilities to continue.

#Hegseth declined to say whether the admin would EVER seek lawmakers’ consent, deferring to the White House.
