Charles and other European monarchs are figureheads with very little actual power.

Yet they still collect money from the peasants and get the influence which goes with having that money. They rule via wealth now instead of fiat, just like the other bililonaires, and use that to perpetuate and increase their wealth and power.

The legal status of these lingering monarchs undermines the purported democracies which host them.
