@VeroniqueB99 ah, why do people love racism, again?

@Felis_Catus_Domesticus @VeroniqueB99
People are missing that they don’t want to go back to the 50s when progress started to be madeThey really want to go back to that 7% tax rate in 1912
With 1920s style immigration laws forbidding anybody but white Northern Europeans (clearly no Irish)
That’s when white vigilante violence destroyed Reconstruction’s gains and established America’s Jim Crow laws
(echoing through Nazi Germany, South Africa’s Apartheid, and Israel’s modern regime)

I do not know. It's really weird. Makes no sense. -

A good life and equitable prosperity for all would be so easily achievable if the country simply implemented a fair tax system.
But apparently it’s more important that soulless, dull-witted, egomaniacal psychopaths can fly into space, or rent out Venice for a wedding party, or fly thousands of kilometers just to eat a pizza, while children and the poor are starving, the sick and the elderly are suffering terribly, and even three or four jobs aren't enough to make a living.

@VeroniqueB99 It seems that we have already gone back in some ways. It wasn't until 1954 that the Polio vaccine was available to all. Which started the expansion of vaccines for mumps, measles, chickenpox and others. 2020 30 cases of measles, between Jan and April almost 2000. Yup we're doing so good.

@VeroniqueB99 my grandmother found the hospital invoice for my mother’s birth in 1964. $30 or about $315 in today’s money. My mother was blind in one eye, and had a then experimental surgery to fix it that costed $55. All on my grandfathers single $400/wk income. But she said the times, especially in the south were VERY oppressive for anyone not a white heterosexual male.
