I do not enjoy worrying "is it terrorism" when there is an accident at the airport. This was something that I think many people in NYC would think for years after 2001, and now it feels the same again.
Anyway there was an accident on the tarmac at LaGuardia, a plane crashed into a fire truck. They canceled all flights. I noticed because normally I hear more planes at this hour: the quiet was unsettling. When I saw a photo of a crushed plane I had a little panic attack. (it was not terrorism)
@futurebird I’ve been hearing about that, it sounds like it was an air traffic control error.

The panic is a mix of the fear of the actual danger of such an attack ... but also how it would make this country even more crazy and dangerous. Then my imagination starts spiring and it's the kind of war no one wants to see.
All over nothing.
This all needs to stop. We don't need to live like this.

@futurebird not going to prejudge the situation but it my instinct says "another control tower mixup" (but not necessarily, so I prefer not to jump to conclusions!)

Yes, to be clear it seems like it was just some kind of gross error in routing the planes around the tarmac, which is overbooked and everyone knows it so ... this kind of thing happening isn't out of the realm of the expected.

@futurebird just pulled the news on this

@futurebird you know what happens if you stop worrying about terrorist attacks: people start looking at what is actually going on, and asking to change things for the better of their lives.
Wouldn't want to have these woke people trying to improve live quality - that's so Swedish!

I know I shouldn't worry but I still do, and I think that means a lot of people must.

@futurebird
I sympathize with your worries. My house is a couple of miles from the Pentagon, and I still get a little nervous when the jets and helicopters fly over. -
@futurebird Sending love and what peace we can muster.
You're so right. We don't need to live like this.
As I sat in a hospice ward yesterday, a nurse came in to check on all of us. There was a quiet in the room for a while and the nurse spontaneously said, "I don't think very many people are going to keep living as long as she has."
Someone else said, "Especially now how we've fixed up our health system lately."
Nurse sighed. "No. Not like that."
She quietly retreated to care for others.
