Nobody sane of mind would cry the death of #Khamenei.

Iranians who are celebrating are doing the right thing.

Everybody hated a decrepit theocratic dictator who has held back Iran's progress for decades.

Everybody hated an octogenarian who prevented women from dressing however they wanted, slaughtered protesters, prevented the development of arts and freedom of expression and isolated its own people.

He deserved to die.

But he deserved to die alone in a jail in The Hague, after responding for his many crimes against humanity, arrested in the aftermath of a UN mission to liberate #Iran.

Or executed by the hand of his own oppressed people, like fascist thugs usually do.

Not buried under the rubble, bombed by the air forces of two other countries also run by fascist thugs.

Two thugs who decide who can live and who must die and unilaterally strike whoever they like, bypassing the UN, communication with allies, diplomacy and consensus.

Two thugs who are as guilty as Khamenei of destabilizing their own regions, starving Cuba on one side and Gaza on the other, enabling racist terrorism at home and dismantling freedom of expression just as much as the Iranian regime did.

And who knows if America's experiments in "exporting democracy" have learned a lesson or two from the previous failures. Or if Trump will simply skip the "democratic" part, not bother to ask Iranians what they want, just like he never bothered to ask the Palestinians, try to install another unpopular puppet Shah picked among his allies, keep the grip of colonialism over an oil-rich region of the Middle East, result in a new revolution in a few years, and eternally repeat the cycle of subjugation of that corner of the world that keeps spreading death and destruction and keeps holding back emancipation for millions of oppressed.

The post-WWII world was never meant to be a world where equally awful fascist thugs kill each other for their own geopolitical interests.
