📢 **Account limitations view on the #GazaVerified archive**

Account limitations view on the #GazaVerified archive#GazaVerified accounts often face limitations on their accounts - sometimes because of spam-like activities, sometimes because of genuine discrimination.
Our goal is to ensure that these accounts are safe on the Fediverse, and that unmotivated suspensions are immediately visible.
On the other hand, we also want to make sure that other Fediverse users don't feel overwhelmed by requests of support, and that the activities of our friends from #Gaza on the Fediverse don't cross generally accepted thresholds for spam (mass tags, unsolicited mentions and private messages, copy-pasted messages...).
In order to provide all sides with better transparency and feedback loops, I have now added a suspension state checker to the gaza-verified archive which periodically updates the list of limitations for all the accounts in the initiative.
gaza.onl now reports for each account whether they are:
️ LIMITED (their posts are only visible to accounts that follow them, and follow requests require approval)
SUSPENDED (they cannot post and they can only appeal to admins/moderators on their parent instance to lift the ban)
️ DELETED (they have been permanently deleted from the instance they are on and their accounts cannot be recovered)
These icons are now visible on:
- The accounts list
- The account page (

The account page also provides a new See Suspensions button that allows to check if a user is limited or suspended on other instance (even if they are active on their parent instance).
The same rules apply here:
- ️ LIMITED: their posts are only visible to people who follow them, and follow requests require approval (only for users on that instance though)
- SUSPENDED: their accounts and posts are not visible to anyone on that instance (note however that they can keep posting on their own instance, it's only users on the suspending instance that are affected)
- ️ DELETED: their accounts have been permanently delete from that instance (it can also be a result of defederation of the whole parent instance though)
The archive fetches every 2 hours the top 50 Mastodon instances by monthly active users, so those lists should give a good idea of the reach of an account's campaign - and if people not responding on a certain instance may be the result of active limitations on that instance.
An API endpoint to check suspension on a per-account basis is also available.
