I have been an accidental observer of academic migrations, with a few family members in the ivory towers.

In the past few years one story keeps repeating: junior to senior academics from #AB higher ed are applying for, and accepting, positions outside of #Alberta. Sometimes giving up salary and rank for instructor and other non-tenure roles.

There are lots of quite different reasons given. But they seem to come down to government actions.

@Amgine My partner has had offers from out of province however as we’re aiming for retirement in three years and we’re staying close to my father we’ve held off.
