      @jbz 100% this. I am glad people want to develop shiny new things and I don't want to gainsay that. But I am tired of the Wayland boosterism. I don't even want a compositor. I would like to continue with the 1990s 2D desktop paradigm until someone comes up with a compelling advance; that will almost certainly be a full 3D environment. We still seem an awful long way from that and I'd appreciate if they didn't spend the intervening time beeaking all the existing, working applications.
