If you, like me, like the concept of flight sims and the flying part but not the lack of aim or extremely high learning curve, may I suggest the new Micropose game?
It's called Legendary Pilots. It is a low poly flight sim with folk music background music, an arcadey control scheme, autopilot where you set your heading and altitude and the planes goes to those for you and, most importantly, an actual career mode where you do passenger or cargo flights and slowly work up the cash to expand your airline company. It is truly excellent so far, and has a native Linux port which I am always happy to see.
