"...The CHP said later in a news release that a 61-year-old Modesto woman died in the crash. She was in a Tesla with a 60-year-old driver who suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center.
The pair from Modesto had been traveling eastbound on Highway 126 when, for unknown reasons, they veered across the highway and into the westbound lanes, according to the CHP...."

The only time I drove a Tesla i had to yank the wheel when it dried to drive directly into construction barricades and light rail tracks (at least 3 different occasions within the same 1 week rental). It took a lot of strength (and speed!) for me to fight that and i could totally understand a sixty year old person not being able to overcome it -

I might misremember but "for unknown reasons, ... veered across the highway..." sounds like a pretty common Tesla issue for me.

This video of an extremely similar crash makes me wonder what the heck is going on. I wonder if it's faulty lane control software.
