what's the career path for someone who went into tech because it was a thing they've always enjoyed and now it paid the bills too - but now they don't enjoy it anymore? is it still to open a bar to serve a clientele of other burned out tech workers?

@q3k The customer I am doing the project for once mistakenly sent me an invitation for advanced forklift training. I've answered them, that I do not have basic training yet, but I'd be glad to get it.

To this day I regret they had not followed with an invitation for the basic training.

@q3k considering how much of a shithead the guy who famously opened a bar to do this is today, i'm not sure that's an improvement for anybody other than you

@q3k depends on how much savings you have, but we'd assume the world is profoundly in need of third spaces, so...

@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space @q3k@social.hackerspace.pl Issue is that a need and a profitable venture aren't quite aligned.

@q3k my friend (not from it) has been considering using her savings to invest in an electrolysis machine and course/certificate to provide affordable care for trans ppl, we need more of that rather than ai slop

@yavien @q3k my laser tech said it's only 12-18 months of courses to get qualified as a laser tech; had me tempted... maybe not as permanent as electrolysis but much cheaper for non-essential areas
