My idea for getting some activism going in the usian small white town I'm stuck in is to get a maker group going first. The hope would be to get beings interested in alternative systems. I'm still working on the infrastructure needed first, which I have where possible with my budget of $0. I think a lot of beings around here would need something they can practically use before they would be interested. I could play on the rightists' fears of government control as long as I avoid thought-stopping cliches. There is also a community college where I know some of the professors. I could probably get one of them interested for their tech class. Unfortunately, with my lack of free time and money, this is going to be a slow burn.

I'm interested in getting a lora network going. Does anyone have recommendations? Meshtastic doesn't seem that reliable and meshcore doesn't have great open-source support across devices.
