@low guess on consultation with some folks and looking through pictures was box elder, but it is possible. It is certainly some kind of maple

@eruonna I was just guessing, as I took a picture recently and was told that it was a Norway maple and yours looked quite similar.

@low apparently those are considered invasive here, so I don't know what the chance is they'd be in the city park. On the other hand, planting them isn't prohibited, and it is a _city_ park, so there isn't much chance of it escaping into the wild. And it has probably been there for a little while.

@low well, I can go back when the leaves come out. Box elder are very distinctive among maples
