    @thelinuxexperiment did a desktop environment comparison on a laptop. The result is surprising.

    It does not matter what kind of DE you are using in terms of GPU performance.

    What really matters, if you're on a laptop, is battery life. The result of @thelinuxEXP research shows that Wayland is better at maintaining longer batter life compared to X11 session.

    That is why Wayland-ready DEs such as GNOME and KDE have longer battery life compared to DEs still on X11. However, it is impressive that XFCE desktop, despite it is on X11 by default, able to maintain very long battery life comparable to GNOME and KDE on Wayland.
