I have still never seen someone out AFK wearing a pair of smart glasses. I tried out google glass when it first launched like 15 years ago or whenever that was and it was pretty neat but in the time since still never noticed literally a single person with them on their face. Am I just in the wrong place at the wrong time and people are actually out and about wearing these?

@liaizon why do all the glasses focus on cameras? I don't want glasses with cameras; I want glasses with a good pair of displays, period.

@liaizon i live in a place with a high concentration of classical tech bro types, and i think i remember seeing 1 (one) dude with the original google glass in public. i so far haven't noticed the presence of a single meta AI glasshole, but i guess i get the feeling they're going to get harder to notice...

@brennen@federation.p1k3.com @liaizon@social.wake.st Even Realities smart glasses are a notable exception to the trend of including cameras.
I will say I understand the issues they cause but also do see some compelling use cases being there with a camera included.
As for noticing these, I think there's still a fairly limited number out there and you have to really be looking to see them since they're way more subtle than Google Glass. -

@liaizon they seem stealth enough (by my non-noticing stuff standards) that i havent knowingly seen any, but i also dont think i live in a place where this would have a major moment?
