Here's my latest for the Arts Fuse: a review of Andrea Motis' album "Intimate."

"To her credit, Motis expands her repertoire to include French chanson, folk songs, and bossa novas in addition to standards. She sings in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, and Portuguese. The tracks are all compact and to the point, and solos, when there are any, are brief. I would have liked to hear her stretch out on more tracks like 'De mica en mica,' where Motis sings quietly close to that excellent microphone, like it’s right in your ear, and gets deep into the romantic song with drama and feeling."
