@GossiTheDog thats a hell of a lot of resources going up in smoke for "entertainment". Perhaps we should go back to going to the pub and watching the telly.

@GossiTheDog I'd love to know what the legal consequences are, if any, of using something which is "for entertainment purposes only" in a professional or commercial context. Could it be evidence of, for example, gross negligence?

For entertainment purposes only of course. Hilarity ensues when the tax man cometh to see the spreadsheets that copilot cooked for you!

@womble @GossiTheDog "For Entertainment Purposes Only" is the disclaimer that Tarot Readers and Astrologers have to put on their businesses in some jurisdictions to avoid being charged with fraud

The fact that they've slapped it on copilot tells me that their legal team has concerns

                    "Entertainment"??? 🤨

Me: "CoPilot: What was the capitol of East Germany?"

CoPilot: "Okay. Two dogs walk into a beer hall in East Berlin..."

@GossiTheDog Satya wears a flower on his vest. "Smell it!" he says. Nobody wants to, but they all have to say, "maybe later." Just to amuse himself, even when nobody smells the flower, Satya regularly squeezes the hidden bladder. Slop squirts out of the flower. Nobody enjoys this.

You have to admit, though... trying to use it for work can be highly entertaining.
Or, well... you have to laugh, because otherwise you'd have to cry, right?

Does that mean it will be banned in workplaces like video games because workers should be working not entertaining themselves ?

@jt_rebelo @GossiTheDog Strictly speaking that's the ToS for the 'consumer' version; so it's even more expansive in its data collection; but I don't think that MS actually has anything better for Fancy Enterprise Copilot 365 (E5); except possibly more aggressive 'burn more tokens if the first time seemed too nonsensical' defaults.

At least the consumer ToS assures us that "you may stop using copilot at any time" your average Azure tenant sure doesn't make it seem that way.

Entertainment purposes implies expressed interest and choice. Microslop gives people no such choice regarding Copilot.
