Sadly, to get a nice internet back, you need to get nice users back - no oligarchs, no sycophants, no hackers, no 'fuck around and find out'ers, no magats, no mansplainers, no egomaniacal influencers who try to make millions of others pay them millions just for being their asshole selves...

So... I think the answer is no - unless more people focus on producing something like the fediverse for commercial activities - where vendors DON'T slap you with adverts and sign-ups...
