    In hindsight, did #tariffs and proprietary software uncertainty push more people toward #opensource? Was it pricing, policy, or just time to break free? Tell us what you think. #Endof10 #openSUSE #Linux https://news.opensuse.org/2025/04/07/fariffs-spark-shift-to-os/

      @opensuse Not tariffs. Tariffs don't hurt me, they hurt those that pay them. Political insanity, xenophobia, paranoia, megalomania, narcissism and an unhealthy dose of dementia - that is what drives the divide today.

        @opensuse The insane tariffs where the thing that made people realise that the US is not a partner you can trust any longer.

        MS happily giving out Bitlocker keys shows also how much of a happy camper US companies are appeasing the regime.

        You want security and predictable, you need independent open source software.

          @opensuse #WhatsMissing: A #Linux - Countercampaign that takes the #Microsoft - #FUD against Linux ("#GetTheFacts") and instead of a mutating #Tux shows the #Enshittification and #Govware of #Windows (espechally #Windows 10 & #Windows11) and shows these as facts.

          I just doubt @linuxfoundation has the spine to piss off a major donor (Microsoft) that way, so #Distros like @SUSE & @ubuntu should do it themselves!
