I find that on pretty much any topic someone says the U.S. is silent about, I can just stroll over to MS NOW and pull a link or six. People should probably examine both their sources and their prejudices.

This vaguepost violates my usual mantra "If the shoe doesn't fit, don't wear it," but I'm tired of seeing this argument. And yes, there's a whiff of "not all men" because a common European stance is "yes, literally all Americans."

If you want me, an American who's fairly well informed, to explain anything that's happening here, I'm willing to help you toward a more nuanced understanding.

If you hate Americans, you hate me. You hate my mom, a charming old woman who can coax a bird from a tree. And you hate my son. That's not acceptable.

Please block me if you hate all Americans, because I will block you, either before or after I read you to filth about your country's recent history and present. No country is innocent, especially not in Europe.

@spiegelmama I agree with you, and yes, I'm American but I officially became a true American last year when I gained my citizenship. Sure, this country isn't perfect, but its given me so many opportunities that I would have never had in Colombia.

@NicksWorld Congratulations on your citizenship! It's a rough time to become an American, but no place is safe right now, so you might as well be here. We're going to need to rebuild after all this nonsense. If you can still love the U.S. after seeing it at its ugliest, the future of the country truly is yours. Try to make other people's paths easier than yours, if you can. ❤️
