One of my New Year's resolutions was to stop buying books from #Amazon. I read about 85 books per year; I LOVE to read. But I don't want to give my money to Amazon.

I've been using BookShop.org, which provides both physical and #DRM free e-books, AND allows me to designate 30% of the book's list price to my favorite local book store!

Same here! Bookshop.org is great, and for books where I'm in no rush to read, I've made it part of my weekend jaunt to the local square where we still have a great independent book store, who will order it.

(I asked them about ordering with them vs. designating them in Bookshop.org, and they said they did better with the former.)

@scottwilson big fan of boookshop.org, but I did recently discover that gift cards can only be used for physical books there.

Not a huge issue, but as I mostly buy ebooks due to space considerations, I've got a couple hundo in gift cards I gotta figure out what to do with.

@mattmaison Oh, absolutely. My first priority is to check out books from the public library... but if there's a book I want to BUY, this is how I do it.
