I tried to search in a group chat, app instantly got weird (element render didn't happen as it usually would). subsequent to that? app just wholly fucked
multiple force kills done
*any* UI event that would cause a keyboard to load? app freezes in portrayal state it was, and reacts to no further input. no keyboard appears
@signalapp wtf?

I don't even know how the fuck this would/could happen
is it ios? is it signal?
it's native keyboard (yes I know fuck off), so there's only so many places this could happen
and yet, behold: my comms-nerfed glassy brick

@froztbyte i’ve had this happen quite often for the longest time (including in imessage) and it’s only finally stopped breaking with ios 26. also default keyboard.

I’ve also had my troubles with signal, on iOS too. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on both parts it’s an issue.Because on one hand I think signal is very underwhelming aesthetically and functionally, it’s the protocol that’s good but that’s it.
On the other hand iOS have had their own troubles so could just as easily be iOS26 shenanigans.

I’ll boost you and hopefully someone will be of better assistance.

@froztbyte Can't guarantee it's related, but at dayjob our iOS people have been dealing with keyboard breakage in 26.x that has persisted for several minor releases. I'm not directly involved but I understand they've had to ship app updates that disable at least usage of the numbers-only keyboard completely
