afghanistan was bombed almost back to the stone age, first by the soviets, later by western alliances. ask any russian how fondly they remember the "victory" there and how effective it was.

it's bad enough that the entire current administration is venal and corrupt. the fact that they are incompetent and completely ignorant of history makes it so much worse.
