      Only four new songs, but Sarniezz (the opener from the KEXP session) sounds great. It’s also remarkable to compare the studio to the live version… they’re playing exactly the same thing, it’s nailed down. Not exactly the same way, but it’s not improv lol

        Only four new songs, but Sarniezz (the opener from the KEXP session) sounds great. It’s also remarkable to compare the studio to the live version… they’re playing exactly the same thing, it’s nailed down. Not exactly the same way, but it’s not improv lol

          @nuthatch One thing I’m wondering is whether their studio recordings involve the usual amount of layered recording or if they stick to the looper approach and just print to master 😄 Probably a little of each? Also, did they ditch the robot voices for the record? 🤔

            @bruienne the robot voices are on the record! I assume it’s a live take… they seem like math-rock players, nail the performance and just hammer it out with minimal variation. So when they’re live it’s the same thing, no cheats.

            I kinda hope they don’t bother wearing outfits while recording. Then they can look at each other for cues, hard to do with a mask over your head 😆
