Mastodon, I need your help! As more European countries and orgs look to ditch US technology and move to sovereign or open source alternatives, I'm trying to track these efforts.

So far, I've found more than half a dozen government agencies, cities, orgs, that are embracing digital sovereignty but want to hear about other examples that I've missed. Who else should I be adding to this?

Here's a list of what I have so far: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yF0yznwPWuEqI2rJi54KFTIWu0yYYVkhVDRtmuy3D2w/edit?usp=sharing

Proton is under U.S. jurisdiction. Look up their terms and they list only 2 countries, Swizerland and the United States.

If you're looking to share documents, I would suggest Infomaniak.

PS: have many non-profits made the switch? Any examples?

@mattburgess I wish more would consider adopting the Haystacks Tech platform, and our scripting language HayScript, and our dev-ecosystem! I have invested over $1.1M of my own money into building all of this so far, without AI!! Human hands, hand crafted software!! https://youtu.be/Rd13XD4lI1U?si=meReKZsyAYROXLCH

Hmm, I signed up without government id. Maybe it depends on which country you are signing up from?

@older @mattburgess Yes of course I read before I respond. You see the original post contains an "OR" which to my understanding as a programmer and according to programmer logic is a non-exclusive "OR", or shall I say an inclusive "OR". And the statement immediately following this "OR" is the worda "Open Source". Considering my company is 90% open source, including an open source dev platform, an open source scripting language, and an open source typing tutor. I determined this qualifies.

Still not sure you read it. OP is not looking for alternatives or anything like that. He's looking for examples of European countries and orgs ditching US technology.
Do you consider your US-based company to be a European country or organisation? In that case it qualifies, of course.
