@ai6yr That's mauna kea? It's always freezing up there, but the fact that it's getting weather is pretty strange. The whole point of putting an observatory up there is because it's above most of the weather.

@mathaetaes @ai6yr Typically, but all of Hawai’i is getting an extremely unusual amount of rain right now, including the Big Island. And I say that as someone who is Hilo-side.

@glasspusher @mathaetaes @ai6yr I lost power two days ago, and I'm at the makai end of Hawaiian Beaches, and there are two trees down on the main road there that took power lines with them, so it's probably going to be a while before I get it back. Plus I don't even get signal out there, so I'm typing this at the Starbucks in downtown Hilo.
I've been through hurricanes in the Caribbean and in Florida, and this storm may not technically have been a cyclone, but it was just as bad!
