@alan Articles on AI are something I generally avoid as boring or distasteful; this article offers a new perspective that I can understand and identify with. Not that I agree with every detail, but pretty close to it.

@alan I read this and immediately shared with my spouse to see what she thought. She had a very different reaction than I did. I just kind of nodded along, agreeing yet detached as I read through it… she was furious by the time she finished. Proof in action?

@macbraughton As the essay says, there are two very polarized interpretations, and I think it's possible to hold both at the same time. Mine include anger, embarrassment, and excitement. Personally, as someone who has dabbled in AI, my initial reaction to "agentic AI" was also "ick."

And that excludes AI porn, which is gross, massively eeeew and ick.
